Eight Months.

My big boy. Wearing his first pair of real shoes. Holding himself up and standing firmly on two feet. Forever sucking on his bottle lip, impatiently awaiting those first two bottom teeth. Wearing striped tees and jeans just like Dad. Constantly saying Dada and yelling Ma! when something is not within his little reach. Still taking about four bottles a day and eating three full meals in his highchair. Sweet potato puffs are like gold in this house. He awakes only once throughout the night, sleeping a grand total of about twelve hours on a regular day.  He has really learned to love his crib, thank goodness. Each night and before every nap, we read one or two of our favorite little books... always ending with I'll See You In The Morning. Eight Months, where did the time go?

A Quick Glimpse.

Just a few quick photos of some of my favorite little corners of our new home. Many more photos to come. Decorating this space has been such a blast thus far, I can't wait to see how things come together over the next few months.
A sweet little shelf in the foyer.
Some refreshing cool tones for the family and living room.
Some freshly planted succulents for our outdoor space.
Vibrant flowers to brighten up the kitchen.
The first piece of wall art I purchased for Alec's Nursery.
His life has already been such an adventure.

Ten Things...

This cute little video made me weep.

Hoping the next one is a girl, so she can sport this little number to the beach.

I've got just the card for my next baby shower.

The story of my life.

Our sofa comes in this week. Eek!

Time to buy Al some summer kicks.

This chick can make just about anything look effortlessly cool.

Such a creative DIY, a must for the new house.

This is a nifty little tip.

I think just about every mom could use one of these clever things.

And this right here... well it's just the truth.

I'M BACK.

Life is crazy right now! So crazy that I had to take a little unexpected hiatus from this little blog for a bit. We have officially moved into our new home and life couldn't be better. All that we waited for is finally here and each day is full to the brim with fun projects. I was insane to plan Alec's Christening for the day before the big move, but somehow it all worked itself out and things went much more smoothly than I ever could have imagined.

The first week was chaos. Kiel and I were up each night until around midnight.. unloading boxes, putting furniture together, and painting walls upon walls. Alec's room is just about finished, and once it's complete, I will definitely showcase some photos. I love his little space so much. It really came together nicely. It's a room to grow into for sure. I will admit, I was a bit worried about Alec sleeping in his own room for the first time. Fortunately, from night one, he has slept like a champ and Kiel and I couldn't be more grateful for the alone time. To be honest, I think a little space was really what we all needed.

The rest of the house is coming together slowly. We are doing our best to find a new place for all of our old things. So far, things have transitioned pretty easily. We are still waiting on a few more furniture/decor deliveries before we will feel completely settled in. Despite some unfinished corners, we hosted Mother's Day on Sunday. It was so nice to finally be able to have my whole big family over for a nice meal and not feel like we were sitting on top of one another.

Overall, I am happy. I am so very very happy. The weather is warm, the move is over, and our house is starting to really become the 'forever home' I've always dreamt it to be.

Photos coming soon.
