LYLAS

I recently went to Los Angeles with a few of my gal pals to visit my long-distance love, Christie Sophia. She moved out West in August 2011. After six long months of missing my bestie, I decided it was officially time to round up the troops and pay her a well-needed visit.

We boozed on rooftops, visited Jimmy Kimmel Live, hiked to the Hollywood sign, chilled in Venice Beach, and spent an afternoon limo cruising and lounging at the Malibu Winery. Our long weekend was perfection and our hostess showed us an incredible time.

I miss all my gal pals like crazy when we aren't together, but I look forward to our next reunion. Danielle is getting married in September, so we have lots to do before then... bachelorette party,  bridal shower.. etc. All great excuses to get all of us together again in one place.

It's Finally Here...

Kiel and I have been anxiously awaiting it's release. I read The Hunger Games Trilogy in under a month... which is actually pretty fast for me! I think they did a wonderful job of casting the characters for the movie! Jennifer Lawrence is a perfect fit for the lead. We are actually going to see the midnight release showing. I know, I know... I'm a total geek, but I've never actually done this! I guess I can check this off my bucket list.

Hair Lust

After chopping my locks off post-wedding, I've been in misery. I feel lost without my long beach waves. Fortunately, it sure is getting there and it's just a matter of time until I can pull off some of these amazing hair-dos I found on Pinterest.

DIY: Canvas Tutorial

I found this amazing canvas transfer tutorial via a beautiful mess.

Here's how she transferred her photo to canvas: 1. Supplies needed- stretched 8x10 canvas, gel medium, paint brush and the image you want to transfer (laser copy) and a spray bottle filled with water. Remember, your image will print reversed. 2. Completely cover your canvas with gel medium. Use a heavy coat. 3. Press the photo copy onto the canvas and let it dry for several hours or overnight. 4. After your image is completely dry, use a spray bottle to wet the top of the paper. 5. Rub the surface with your fingers until pieces of the paper start coming off. When pieces start coming up your image will be revealed. This step takes patience and is messy! Be careful not to rub too hard as this can remove your transfer on accident. Continue until all the paper is removed and the image is completely visible! 6. Cover your canvas with one more coat of gel medium to seal and protect the image.

Now to pick a photo...
